Blurring the lines between southern rock, blues folk, country and rock and roll, The Plott Hounds combine all of their favorite elements that stretch across numerous genres to give you a bit of everything. Heavily influenced by the Southern Rockers of old & Classic Country Music, they are a band that you need to see live to get that full experience. A 6 piece band with members hailing from all areas of the United States (Minnesota, Iowa, California, Georgia, North Carolina) they really have become a melting pot of talent. Each member with their own style creating and adding to what is a unique and original mix of full flavored Americana, Country & Rock N’ Roll. Turn it up, crack a cold one and let’s go.

Band Members:

Noah Bodner – Lead Vocals, Rhythm Guitar

Born and raised in Sandy Springs, Georgia, Noah moved to Minnesota after graduating from the University of Iowa. Noah was once a classically trained violinist but has since put the fiddle down to focus on his true passion of guitar, song writing and soulful singing. Noah takes inspiration from a wide genre of music but his favorites are rooted in bands like The Allman Brothers, Marshall Tucker, The Band and Reckless Kelly. When he is not writing songs and playing with the band he is probably in the swamp chasing down ducks with his 3 dogs. Noah is endorsed by Breedlove Guitars.

Jeff Powell – Vocals, Lead Guitar

Born and raised in Iowa, his thick buttered bacon tone and bawling leads are inspired by SRV and 60 hour work weeks. He has dabbled in music from cloth-eared AC/DC to string spanking blues from the Black Keys and strives to bring a fresh flavor to southern rock.

Shea Marana – Bass Guitar

Currently residing in Coon Rapids, MN, Shea has been a “low ender” for numerous years. He has a flavor for music which runs the gamut from Led Zeppelin to Johnny Cash, he looks to bring this diversity to the music he plays. When he’s not performing with the band, he is either helping his wife raise their two daughters or he’s out on his next hunting or fishing trip.

Brian Saastamoinen – Drums, Percussion, Vocals

Born in Golden Valley, MN, and began playing drums at a young age. Wanting to be a trumpet player, his high school band teacher gave him Drum sticks after catching him playing on the school’s new drum kit. Brian became obsessed with the drums, and Brian began to hone his craft by playing for hours on end and started his first high school band at age 15. Brian has become a regular in the Minneapolis area and has performed with too many bands and artists to list, but in recent years, Wild Child, The Before Him Band, The RUGGS and The Doohickeys.

Josh Braun – Lap Steel

With a background in both classical and jazz guitar, Josh began playing in the Twin Cities scene about 3 years ago after moving from Los Angeles. That move sparked a deep passion for traditional slide instruments, such as the lap steel and dobro. Josh finds inspiration from artists as diverse as Wayne Shorter, Elmore James, Merle Haggard, and Derek Trucks. He is endorsed by Palir Guitars.

Ansley McAllister – Vocals, Guitar

Growing up in the Appalachian mountains of western North Carolina. Ansley and her ten siblings were raised traveling around the country in a big red bus-belting their hearts out southern gospel style to whomever would listen. This grew in her a love and appreciation for rich soulful melodies, intimate harmonies that can cut you to the bone. She began pursuing songwriting at age 10 and picked up a few instruments along the way. When she is not working or playing music she enjoys being outdoors, drinking dark beer and making people laugh.

The Plott Hounds will perform a vast array of tunes ranging from their own hit songs that have hit the local and national radio waves as well as covers ranging from Waylon Jennings, Merle Haggard, The Allman Brothers Band, Marshall Tucker Band, Charlie Daniels, Travis Tritt, The Band and many others of the Southern Rock, Blues & Classic Country Genres.
